Swimming World Five-Star Kyle Duckitt Chooses College

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, August 19. A top international prospect from the Class of 2010 recently made his college decision. Waterborn's Kyle Duckitt informed Swimming World today where he is headed to college.

Duckitt, a Swimming World five-star breaststroker who trains at the Waterborn Club and studies at St. John's College, is traveling to Ann Arbor, Mich., to become a member of the University of Michigan squad. Mike Bottom is likely thrilled with the commitment.

"I'm very happy to have made a commitment with the University of Michigan, and cannot wait to start training with Mike Bottom, Joshua White and the Michigan Wolverines," Duckitt told Swimming World. "After receiving numerous offers, I am glad that I found my fit so quickly, and that I can now continue to focus on the rest of my Senior year in South Africa. I know that it is going to be the best place for me with the university's great academics, swimming program and coaches. Go Blue!"

Duckitt is a breaststroker with long course times of 1:03.71 in the 100 and 2:16.38 in the 200. He also has short course yards conversion times of a 54.67 in the 100 and a 1:57.01 in the 200, both of which would have cleared the B cut last year.
