THE inclusion of top SA swimmers in Roland Schoeman, Darian Townsend, Jean Basson and Cameron van der Burgh in the premier tier of the SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee's Operation Excellence Road to London 2012 provisional squad, illustrates the important role that aquatics plays as far as bringing sports glory to SA is concerned.

In welcoming the support set to be given to Schoeman (50 metres freestyle), Townsend (200 metres individual medley), Basson (200 metres freestyle) and Van der Burgh (100 metres breaststroke) Swimming SA CEO Shaun Adriaanse expressed his gratitude to SASCOC for their continued support in helping SA swimmers' preparations in a bid to medal at the greatest multi-sport event in the world.
