COLLEGE STATION, Texas, March 27. PURDUE's David Boudia claimed the three-meter diving crown with an amazing 493.10 points at NCAAs.

The victory gave the Boilermakers their second national title ever, and broke the meet record of 466.80 set by Miami's Reuben Ross last year.

Auburn's Kelly Marx took second with 454.85 points, 38.25 points behind. The largest margin of victory, however, came in 1993 when Miami's Dean Panaro (647.95) beat Minnesota's Pat Bogart (594.45) by 53.50 points. Ohio State's Hugh Showe III finished third with 447.25 points.

Auburn did well for itself in diving as the Tigers overtook the lead with 323 points. Texas fell to second with 308 points, while Stanford sat third with 266.5 points. California (225) and Florida (207) were fourth and fifth.
