Mikasa Renews USA Water Polo Sponsorship Through 2012

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, November 7. MIKASA Sports, a world leader in the manufacturing of water polo balls has announced its renewed commitment to the sport of water polo by extending the companies sponsorship of USA Water Polo and their national teams through 2012. Mikasa is an original corporate supporter of USA Water Polo and will partner with the national governing body in helping the sport's participation growth across the United States.

As a part of their renewed partnership, Mikasa will provide their state of the art, FINA-sanctioned water polo balls to all National Championships as well as all the training and competition needs of the National Team program.

Along with USA Water Polo's commitment to growth and development in 2009 Mikasa will be launching a new "USA Water Polo JR ball" focusing on our youth and giving a unique identity to the 10 and under players. The new ball will be available in January from S & R Sport, a USA Water Polo sponsor and other Mikasa Dealers.

"We see USA Water Polo moving in the right direction. With two silver medals under their belt the sport is poised for growth and a re-focus on our youth will help build this sport for the future. USA Water Polo is the right partner for the foreseeable future" said Richard McCoy, President of Mikasa USA.

Mikasa is the Official Water Polo Ball of the 2008 Olympic Games, FINA, LEN, USA WATER POLO, NCAA and seven state sanctioned high school associations.

"Mikasa has been a great partner to USA Water Polo and has helped our teams with their specific training needs which this year has lead to the most successful year we have ever had. We look forward to our continued partnership with Mikasa, and working with them on growing the sport of water polo," said Christopher Ramsey, CEO USA Water Polo
