Indiana Announces Volunteer Assistant Addition

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana, April 25. INDIANA head men's and women's swimming coach Ray Looze announced today that Carter Crosby will join the staff as a volunteer assistant coach. He will begin his duties this summer while pursuing a master's degree in applied sport science at IU.

Crosby comes to Indiana from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. where he spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the men's and women's swimming programs. His responsibilities at Allegheny included writing and implementing workouts, constructing a strength and conditioning program, recruiting and mentoring student-athletes.

"We are excited to add Carter to our staff for the 2008-2009 season," Looze said. "His energy, enthusiasm, and passion will undoubtedly enhance both our women's and men's swimming teams."

In addition to his coaching duties at Allegheny, Crosby was also the director of the Community Swim Programs at the college. Crosby also has experience as a swim instructor at USC's Schubert Swim Camp, University of Tampa and Columbia University.

Crosby is a 2006 graduate of Columbia where he was a four-year swimming letterwinner. He served as co-captain as a senior and helped lead the Lions to a record of 22-12 over the course of his four seasons.

Special thanks to Indiana for contributing this report.
