Israeli Swimming Break Down

PHOENIX, Arizona, April 7. SWIMMING World's Israeli correspondent Dr. Buky Chass checked in with his latest update on Israel's news.

The following swimmers have qualified for Israel to compete at the Beijing Games:
Anya Gostomelski – 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 100 fly
Guy Barnea – 100 back
Itai Tzama – 200 back
Gal Nevo – 200 IM, 400 IM
Max Jaben – 200 free

Barnea's 100 back time of 54.90, Nevo's 200 IM time of 2:02.43 and Jaben's 200 free time of 1:49.48 all finished the year as Israeli records.

In other news, Nadav Cochavi set a national record in the 100 fly with a time of 53.88 at the Spanish Championships, while Alon Mandel broke the 200 fly national record with a 1:59.79.
