NCAA Division I Women's Champs: Miami's Brittany Viola Captures Platform Title -- March 22, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 22. THE final diving event of the women's NCAA season took place with Miami's Brittany Viola coming out on top with a victory in the platform at the NCAA Division I Women's Championships.

Viola amassed 362.60 points to capture the title and become the second diver from the school to win the platform event. Jenny Keim holds the distinction as the first diver from Miami to win the 10 meter with 538.80 points in 2000.

Stanford's Margaret Hostage finished second with 347.20 points, while Purdue's Kara Cook placed third with 311.00 points.

Arizona remained in first with 444 points against Auburn's 318 points. Stanford moved within striking distance of second with 315 points, while Texas A&M (283) and Florida (263.5) rounded out the top five.
