Jimmy Feigen Grabs Second National High School Record

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, February 9. JIMMY Feigen, a Swimming World five-star recruit who is heading to the University of Texas next year, put himself in the lead for Swimming World National High School Swimmer of the Year accolades with his second national standard today.

After the Winston Churchill High senior, who also swims for the San Antonio Wave, broke the 50 free record of Michael Cavic with a 19.65 at the UIL District 26-5A meet, Feigen came out today with a blazing fast time of 43.41 in the 100 free at the UIL Region IIV Championship Finals at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas.

Feigen's time lowered Joe Hudepohl's overall mark of 43.43 set on Feb. 15, 1992 as a member of St. Xavier in Ohio, and also dropped the national public record (43.49) of Garrett Weber-Gale's national record set on Feb. 22, 2003 as a member of Nicolet High in Wisconsin.

Feigen went out in 20.49 and brought the record home with a 22.92 back half.
