Jenny Connolly Breaks National Public High School Record

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, February 9. LAST night at the Indiana High School State Championships, Swimming World five-star recruit Jenny Connolly of William Henry Harrison High broke the national public high school record in the 100 back.

Connolly, who has signed to attend the University of Tennessee next year, clocked a time of 53.53 during prelims to erase the long-standing record (53.68) of Misty Hyman set for Shadow Mountain in Arizona on Nov. 9, 1996.

Connolly went out in 25.94 before bringing it home in 27.59.

The overall high school standard of 52.86 still remains in the hands of Natalie Coughlin, which she set on May 23, 1998 for Carondelet High in California.
