C.W. Post vs. Fordham

BRONX, New York, January 25. THE Fordham women's swimming team improved to 7-1 on the season, as they topped the C.W. Post Pioneers by a score of 133-71 this evening at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.

The Fordham women posted wins in seven of the 11 events, which started with Christina Cosentino, Nicole Marshall, Caitlin Napoli, and Amanda Ciccone winning the 400 medley relay in 3:57.40.

Each of those swimmers then went on to win an individual event later in the meet, led by Marshall, who just missed breaking the school record in the 200 breaststroke. She won the event in 2:20.96, falling just shy of Elizabeth Lehre's 1997 record of 2:20.38.

Ciccone won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.33, followed by Cosentino taking the 200 backstroke in a season-best time of 2:06.13, and Napoli winning the 500 freestyle in 5:05.62.

Tressa Dunn rounded out the individual winners, taking the 200 individual medley in a season-best time of 2:12.13. She also anchored the 400 freestyle relay team to a win as Tara McWilliams, Alexandria Ukleja, Alexandra Alessi, and Dunn swam 3:40.99.

The Fordham swimming and diving teams will next be in action on Saturday, February 2nd, as they have a meet at the University of Massachusetts, beginning at 1:00 PM.
