In the first meet of the season, the Lobos defeated Northern Colorado, 252-204, in an all-relay competition. UNM captured nine first-place finishes out of a total of 12 events.

"This is a fantastic way to start the season," head coach Tracy Ljone said. "We had fast splits across the board, which set a good tone for the season. I am very proud of the girls, they had fun and worked hard."

The first Lobo win of the day came from senior Andrea Zarins, junior Carly Hilo, and sophomore Theresa Rogers in the 300-yard breaststroke relay with a time of 3:26.05.
