Reports: Laure Manaudou to be Coached by Brother -- August 7, 2007

PARIS, France, August 7. THE coaching mess of Frenchwoman Laure Manaudou has taken another turn according to L'Equipe, the French sports daily newspaper. Manaudou, who first left Philippe Lucas and now has been dismissed from her Italian club, LaPresse, will be joining forces with her 21-year-old brother when she comes back from her current vacation.

Nicolas Manaudou will take the reins of his sister's training, a move confirmed to the French newspaper by Manaudou's father, Jean-Luc. Nicolas Manaudou, at such a young age, doesn't have the coaching experience of his sister's previous coaches, so questions obviously abound. Will Manaudou receive the proper guidance, training sets and have the chance to maintain her status as the premier 200 and 400 freestyler in the world? Time will tell.

August 8, 2007 Wow! What a risky game plan this close to the Olympics. In the Western States of America, we have a saying: "Don't change your horse in midstream." She should have never left Philippe Lucas.
