Auburn Sectional Comes to a Close -- July 15, 2007

AUBURN, Alabama, July 15. THE Auburn Sectional came to a close after four days of long course meter swimming action.

Amanda Weir opened the final day of competition with a win in the 100 free when she clocked a time of 55.30. In the men's 100 free, Matt Targett walked away with the title in 49.78.

In the 200 breaststrokes, Andrew Bree took home the men's title in 2:15.40, while Abby Macgregor touched in 2:32.01 to claim the women's crown.

In the 1500 freestyle distance events, Micah Martindale won the women's race by more than 20 seconds with a time of 16:36.98, while Robert Looney earned a seven-second triumph with a time of 15:40.06 in the men's races.

Julianne McLane (2:14.98) and Doug Van Wie (2:00.73) concluded the meet with wins in their respective 200 backstroke events.
