TOWSON, Maryland, October 21. SENIOR Aly Hunt won a pair of individual events and swam the opening leg of the victorious 400-medley relay as Towson University (3-0, 2-0) won its third straight meet with a 158-81 Colonial Athletic Association women's swimming victory over Old Dominion University (0-1, 0-1) at the Tigers' Burdick Pool on Saturday afternoon.
Hunt helped the Tigers win the 400-medley relay event with a time of 3:57.28 by swimming the lead leg. She also won the 50-free with a mark of 24.16 before taking the 100-free by touching the wall in :52.91.
Junior Ashley Lamp also earned a pair of individual victories by taking first place in the 1000-free with a mark of 10:26.59 along with a win in the 500-free in a time of 5:11.71. Senior Liz Lebherz earned a victory in the 200-free with a time of 1:54.16 while freshmen Jordan Crosby and Leslie Powell earned victories in the 200-individual medley and 200-fly, respectively. Crosby also finished in second place in the 200-fly while swimming the third leg of the 400-medley relay.
Sophomore Jasmine Moore led the Monarchs in the loss with a victory in the three-meter diving event, scoring 232.20 points. She also finished second in the one-meter event with a score of 216.68 points.
"Today was an outstanding team effort from top to bottom," Tiger Coach Pat Mead said. "We've never had a group come in and step up in the second half like we did today. Having that depth is going to be something we can use to compete in the CAA."
