Hansen Featured in Sports Illustrated

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 25. FOR the second time this month, which bodes as a positive development for the sport, swimming has been featured in Sports Illustrated. The latest subject is Brendan Hansen, fresh off another world-record swim at the Pan Pacific Championships in Victoria, British Columbia. There, Hansen popped a 2:08.50 performance in the 200 breaststroke.

Hansen follows an SI story on the young females leading the way for the United States. Much of the Hansen story focuses on his rivalry with Japan's Kosuke Kitajima and the fact that Hansen doesn't plan on allowing Kitajima back in his ballpark. Since Kitajima won double gold in Athens, Hansen has created a significant gap between the athletes in terms of time. At the Pan Pacific Champs, Hansen won the 200 breast by 2.37 seconds over his Japanese foe.
