Arno Kamminga may have a “love-hate” relationship with the 50m breaststroke but he twice hit 26.9 on Saturday at the Eindhoven Qualification Meet.

The meet in Eindhoven, which runs from Friday through Sunday, serves as an opportunity to set times for selection to the 2022 World Championships in Budapest.

Kamminga went 26.90 in prelims to displace Adam Peaty and his 26.91 from British Championships in European waters.

The three-time European silver medallist returned in the evening to go 26.92 and claim his second title in as many days following his win over 200br.

The retirements of Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Femke Heemskerk have left a vacuum in the Netherlands with Marrit Steenbergen making her way to the top of the 100 free podium in 54.26.

Kim Busch was second in 54.96 ahead of Valerie van Roon (55.06).

Stan Pijnenburg won the men’s race in 48.78 ahead of Austrian Heiko Gigler (49.19) and Jesse Puts (49.51).

Maaike de Waard made up a deficit of 0.03 at halfway to overhaul Kira Toussaint and win the 100 back in 59.87 to 1:00.29.

Tomas Franta and Niels Dijkshoorn tied the men’s race in 54.61.
