IRVINE, California, August 7. MANY analysts believed the 400 IM was Michael Weiss’ best event entering the meet, but Weiss shocked many when he finished fourth in the 200 free to qualify for his first Pan Pacs team. In a post-race interview with Swimming World, Weiss shared his feelings on making the team for the first time, his improvements in the 200 free, and how it felt to see his Wisconsin teammates getting so excited for his finish.
