USA Swimming Announces National Junior Team Camp Coaching Staff

COLORADO SPRINGS – USA Swimming today announced the staff selected to guide next month’s National Junior Team Camp, which is slated for April 8-12 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

The aim of the annual camp is to identify elite 18-and-under swimmers and introduce them to the USA Swimming National Team culture of sportsmanship and excellence, while providing younger athletes the opportunity to experience a training camp situation.

Tim O’Brien (Austin, Texas) of Nitro Swimming and Chris Plumb (Carmel, Ind.) of the Carmel Swim Club will serve as head coaches for the camp.

Assistant coaches for the camp include:

· Sue Chen (Rockville, Md./Machine Aquatics)

· David Gibson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./ Swim Fort Lauderdale)

· Peter Morgan (Fairfax Station, Va./Nation’s Capital Swim Club)

· Steve Morsilli (San Ramon, Calif./ Pleasanton Seahawks)

· Jason Turcotte (Duluth, Ga./Dynamo Swim Club)

· Peter Wright (Sugar Land, Texas/First Colony Swim Team)

Bill Rose (Mission Viejo, Calif.) of the Mission Viejo Nadadores will be present as a camp consultant.

Each member of the 2014-15 USA Swimming National Junior Team was invited and more than 80 will attend.
