Six Potential Hosts Lined Up for FINA World Short Course Championships

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, May 8. FINA has announced that six potential hosts have been lined up to bid for the 2018 and 2020 FINA World Short Course Championships. The six nations will head to Lausanne to begin pleading their cases on Tuesday.

Russia and the UAE do not have cities initially listed, but Astana, Kazakhstan; Copenhagen, Denmark; Hangzhou, China; and Tokyo, Japan, are all still in play to host the events.

The next edition takes place later this year with the 2014 World Short Course Championships being hosted by Doha, Qatar, with the 2016 event taking place in Windsor, Canada.

The process will continue to narrow down the hosts before a final decision is made.
