Japan’s Rikako Ikee just missed the World Junior record with a meet mark in the women’s 50-meter fly finale at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships.

Ikee scorched the finale with a time of 26.28, breaking her own mark of 26.30 from yesterday.

That time came up just short of Rozaliya Nasretdinova’s World Junior record of 26.28 set at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

Canada’s Penny Oleksiak continued her strong meet with another silver as she touched in 26.45.

Russia’s Mariia Kameneva rounded out the podium with a third-place effort of 26.47.

China’s Wang Jingzhuo (26.51), Australia’s Lucia Lassman (26.86), Australia’s Gemma Cooney (26.97), Slovakia’s Barbora Misendova (27.00) and Hungary’s Szonja Szokol (27.37) comprised the rest of the championship field.
