Riptide’s Regan Smith broke Kirsty Coventry‘s pool record of 59.42 by swimming a 59.38, which solidified Smith as the only swimmer to break the 1:00 barrier. Taylor Ruck earned silver in 1:00.18 while the bronze was given to Georgia’s Olivia Smoliga with her 1:00.23. Fourth and fifth place were awarded to Peng Xuwei and Isabel Stadden while Jade Hannah and Kayla Sanchez earned sixth and seventh. Rounding out the field in eighth was Lisa Bratton in 1:01.30.
