In 2016, Hellen Moffitt led her North Carolina Tar Heels to a third-place finish at the ACC championships, moved into the all-time top ten in the women’s 100-yard fly, made the final in that event at the NCAA championships and then in the 100-meter fly at Olympic Trials and then earned a spot on the U.S. Short Course World Championship team.

Now in her senior season, Moffitt is preparing to lead the Tar Heels into dual meet showdowns with rivals Virginia, NC State and Duke before her final ACC championships and then NCAA championships.

Moffitt joined this week’s episode of Off Deck to explain her emotions from each step of the past year and to preview what she expects in the coming weeks. She explained which races have been the most meaningful for her, which of the rivalry dual meets are the most intense and what she is hoping to accomplish in her final collegiate season.

Watch the full episode below, and come back next week for more Off Deck episodes.
