NEW COMMIT: Leenah Sarhan has committed to swim for Rider University beginning in the 2018-2019 season. Sarhan swims for the Egg Harbor Township Seahwaks in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. She also swims for Egg Harbor Township High School where she is a team captain for the second year in a row.

Sarhan is primarily a breaststroker, but also strong in IM and distance freestyle. Her best times include:

  • 200 Breast 2:23.73
  • 100 Breast 1:06.51
  • 1000 Free 10:35.22
  • 500 Free 5:10.01
  • 200 Free 1:56.08
  • 400 IM 4:34.08
  • 200 IM 2:08.60

At last year’s MAAC Championships Sarhan’s best time would have finished third in the 100 breaststroke. She also would have been second in the 200 breaststroke. While swimming the 400 IM before the 100 breaststroke could make for a tough Friday, Sarhan’s best time in the event would have finished second at last year’s meet. In the 200 IM on Thursday she would have touched fourth.

Breaststroker Nicole Harms will also join Rider’s Class of 2022.

Sarhan told Swimming World,

“Extremely excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Rider University. Rider’s campus is not only beautiful and welcoming, but I felt comfortable right away with both the team and the coaches. Looking forward to the next 4 years – Go Broncs !!”
