The men’s 200-meter fly A final will be loaded tonight with some of the biggest names in swimming.

Longhorn’s Clark Smith, coming off a breakthrough short course season for Texas, led qualifying with a time of 1:58.22. That’s his second-fastest time ever behind a lifetime best of 1:57.15 from last month.

NBAC’s Michael Phelps, still on the comeback trail, qualified third in 1:58.90 as he should be in the mix for a medal this evening. Phelps’ prelim swim in the event in Charlotte was a 2:00.64.
