Swimming Holiday Gift Guide: More Options for the Swimmer in Your Life

We are one week out from Thanksgiving and just five-and-a-half weeks from Christmas, so the rush to purchase gifts for family and friends is on. Need some swimming-related items? Here is another batch of our suggestions, in a wide variety of price ranges. Don’t see what you’re looking for here. Check out our previous edition of the gift list.

Over $100

MySwimPro Subscription: This program, which connects to smartphones and smartwatches through an app, allows athletes to log swim workouts and get personalized practice plans and stroke analysis daily. The app helps swimmers work toward customized goals.

FINIS HydroX Tech Suit: The latest offering from FINIS is now one of the world’s premier racing suits. FINIS advertizes fabric “positioned to optimize the natural expansion and contraction of the muscle, providing consistent compression for the highest performance.” Available in men’s jammer, women’s closedback kneeskin and women’s openback kneeskin.

FORM Smart Swim Goggles: This training goggle provides “an Augmented Reality display and advanced machine learning algorithms to give you the swim data you need to improve.” According to FORM, this goggle can provide swim analysis and correctly track workouts, including with app connections.

Women's Tephra Stretch Reflect Jacket

Speedo Tephra Stretch Reflect Jacket: Stay warm after practice and at swim meets with this jacket, which Speedo says “directs body heat back to your core and boosts warmth by up to 20%.” This jacket also provides insulation and plenty of pockets for storing cell phones and other essentials.

PaddleSmash: This new game is perfect for swimmers waiting outside the pool for practice. The game’s description states: “Teams take turns using a paddle to smash a pickleball over the net into the court. If the ball hits the ground or doesn’t leave the court, the other team scores a point.” Easy setup, and matches last around 15 minutes with 2-4 players.

Under $100

JOLYN Training Suits: One of the most popular brands of training wear for women, JOLYN suits come in a variety of styles and designs.

The Magic5 Custom Goggle: These goggles come in a popular blue-gold mirrored setting, but they are best known for Magic5’s “Optimal Fitting Technology,” which scans a swimmer’s face to provide a fit designed for that individual athlete.

JBL Waterproof Portable Speaker: This Bluetooth-powered accessory is perfect for blasting tunes on deck during practice, helping keep swimmers’ minds of the grueling set at hand during their all-too-short rest intervals. The speaker also has a 20-hour battery, so it should not need to be charged after every practice.

Stocking Stuffers: Under $50

TRISWIM Products: A wide range of products that help remove chlorine from the hair and skin. Use these to keep your body in good shape after a long practice.

Corkcicle Insulated Water Bottle: Keep your drinks warm for 25 hours or hot for 12 hours with the Series A Sport Canteen from Corkcicle. These bottles come in 20oz or 32oz sizes and provide a “Quick Sip Sport Lid” for easy access.

TYR American Flag Kickboard: Almost every swimmer has used a kickboard at one point or another, and most swimmers still pick up a board in training at least sometimes. So why not go with this flag design, designed with durable foam to last in chlorinated water.

Jack’s Slippers: Inside or outside, these slippers will be comfortable while providing a strong grip on the bottom that would suffice on a pool deck. Keep your feet warm during the winter months, and take advantage of fun designs like smiley faces, checkerboards, flowers and hearts.
