Single Leg Alternative Hope

Purpose: Children have difficulties with balance and coordination. These difficulties exist on land and in the water. It is believed swimming provides an altered environment increasing the difficulty of many task. This simple balance/coordination exercise helps improve weight shifting while alternating legs, a beginner exercise for developing children. Directions: Stand on one leg while maintaining a straight line through the body, then shift your weight to the other leg. While transferring your body weight, attempt to maintain your body alignment.
