USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Maddie Reynolds Verbals To South Carolina

NEW COMMIT: The University of South Carolina has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Maddie Reynolds out of Windermere, Florida.

She will join Tori Abruzzo in Columbia as a member of the Gamecocks’ Class of 2029.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina! I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for helping me reach this point. A special thank you to the coaches at South Carolina for this amazing opportunity! I can’t wait! GO GAMECOCKS!”

Reynolds does her club swimming with Laker Swimming and finaled in the 50m back at NCSA Spring Championships after taking third in that event at Florida Spring Senior Championships. She also was a four-time finalist at Southern Zone Seniors.

She also represents Puerto Rico internationally. She recently competed at the Puerto Rico International Open where she defended her 100m back title, also placing third in both the 50m back and 200m back.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.87
  • 100 free – 50.96
  • 200 free – 1:49.48
  • 100 back – 56.32

Currently a junior at Windermere High School, Reynolds is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She finished fourth in both the 100 back and 100 free at the 2023 Florida 4A State Championships after taking sixth in the 100 back at the state meet during her sophomore season.
