Lily Archibald Commits to Rice With Several AAC A-Final Worthy Times

NEW COMMIT: U.S. Open qualifier Lily Archibald of Ridgefield, Connecticut, has announced her verbal commitment to Rice University. She will arrive in Texas in Fall 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m beyond thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at RICE university! So thankful for my family, coaches, friends, and teammates for their unwavering support; and a special thank you to the Rice coaches for giving me this opportunity. I’m eternally grateful and so excited! GO OWLS!”

Archibald trains year-round with Ridgefield Aquatic Club and placed 19th in the 100 fly at Juniors East back in December before going on to win four events at Connecticut Seniors in March. She most recently was the runner-up in the 100m fly at TYR 18&U Spring Cup – Fort Lauderdale.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.14
  • 100 free – 50.08
  • 200 free – 1:49.52
  • 100 back – 54.63
  • 100 fly – 53.93
  • 200 fly – 2:01.81

Currently a junior at Ridgefield High School, Archibald won the 100 fly and placed second in the 50 free at the 2023 Connecticut State Championships. She earned gold in the 100 fly and silver in the 100 back during her sophomore season.

The Owls finished third at the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championships. Archibald already has A-final worthy times in the 100 fly, 100 free, 100 back and 200 free.
