Unfortunately for the sport of swimming, one of the negative headlines from 2010 has followed us into the new year. All the talk last year was protecting athletes from sexual abuse, but recent headlines have brought us to another question: How can we protect the coaches from false rumors regarding abuse? In the era of the 24 hour news cycle one false rumor can result in a permanent scarlet letter for a coach. To discuss ways that coaches and teams can avoid these situations, we’ve brought in Bob Groseth who is the Executive Director of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
