Connor Black and Rahul Sethna on The Morning Swim Show

March 5, 2013: Connor Black, the new national public high school record holder in the 100 butterfly, joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show with his high school coach to look back on the road to becoming one of the fastest swimmers in history. Black and coach Rahul Sethna had to traverse a few obstacles on the way to Black’s 46.71 in the 100 fly at the Illinois state championships, including extremely early-morning trips to a local YMCA for training as their pool endured renovations. Black said he never thought much about the ordeal of being transported to a different pool, and Sethna said the training never ceased this season. Black says having competitor Andrew Jovanovich in the lane next to him certainly helped push him to the record, and he Black also talks about being able to post quick times in the 50 free and 100 fly with about an hour in between to rest.
