IRVINE, California, August 7. LORDY, Lordy, Lordy. Just when it seems indisputable that Roland Schoeman is the world\u2019s greatest sprinter, along comes some kid from Stanford to upset the applecart.<\/p>\n

Schoeman, who won Worlds with history\u2019s second fastest 50 (and fastest ever in normal competitive conditions) had already won the 100 free and 100 fly here. This race was to be gold medal #3. It almost didn\u2019t pay to bother racing. Just give him the gold and everyone can leave five minutes early.<\/p>\n

And then this kid comes along. Benjamin Wildman-Tobriner, by name. Yeah, I know it\u2019s long but it looks like we\u2019ll have to learn it.<\/p>\n

Anyway, Ben comes along and out-touches The Man, 22.13 to 22.15.<\/p>\n
