IRVINE, Calif., August 7. THE way she\u2019s been swimming it seemed it would take a miracle to keep Amanda Weir from winning her second national title. Earlier in the meet she walked away with the 100 free crown in 54.47 seconds.<\/p>\n

No miracle was forthcoming this evening, and so Weir notched title #2, a 50-meter triumph in 25.45 seconds, just edging Victoria Poon in 25.52. Brooke Bishop was third in 25.79, as five finalists broke 26 seconds.<\/p>\n

Ann Botek won the B final in 25.94 while Emily Silver took the C in 25.97.<\/p>\n
