Actually, not at all. By virtue of a 10-6 victory over Cuba on Thursday, the U.S. earned 11th place. The team needed a top-eight finish to qualify for next year\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n
Tony Azevedo, considered one of the premier players in the world, led the United States with two goals and Jeff Powers and Adam Wright scored twice each. While the U.S. men finished well below their expectations, the United States women will play Hungary on Friday at 2:30 p.m. for the gold medal.
