BERLIN, May25. AFTER three days of relatively swift swimming, the fourth day of the German Nationals slowed down. More, Helge Meeuw saw his winning streak come to an end, as he managed just third place in the men\u2019s 200-meter backstroke.<\/p>\n
Through three days, Meeuw had enjoyed a sterling competition, complete with victories in the 100 backstroke and both butterfly disciplines. But, his run was halted in the distance dorsal, as he touched the wall in 2:00.75. Sebastian Halgasch won the event in 2:00.21 and was followed in second place by Steffen Driesen in 2:00.27.<\/p>\n
In the men\u2019s 200 individual medley, Dominique Lendjel outdistanced the field with a mark of 2:02.61, quicker than the 2:03.52 turned in by Oliver Wenzel. As for the 400 free on the male side, top honors went to Christian Hein in 3:51.81. Paul Biederman wasn\u2019t far off the pace, as he touched in 3:51.91.<\/p>\n
For the women, Petra Dallmann was the top finisher in the 200 freestyle with a performance of 2:00.95 while Annika Liebs took the second position in 2:01.03.
