FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, May 23. BETSY Durrant of Virginia Masters, the immediate past Secretary of US Masters Swimming, was named as the 2005 winner of the Ransom Arthur Award on Saturday, May 21, at the US Masters Swimming Short Course National Championships in Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n
The award — Masters Swimming's highest honor — is given annually in honor of Captain Ransom J. Arthur, M.D., generally regarded as the
\n"father" of Masters swimming, to the individual who has done the most to further the objectives of Masters swimming.<\/p>\n
Betsy has been among USMS's most effective leaders for many years at the local, regional and national level.
