ATLANTA, April 20. AFTER eight years in command of the men\u2019s program at Georgia Tech, Seth Baron has resigned as head coach of the Yellow Jackets, citing the desire to pursue other professional opportunities. The announcement was made by Dave Braine, the school\u2019s Athletic Director. Baron also stepped down as the women\u2019s coach, which he guided since the program\u2019s birth four years ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy eight years at Georgia Tech have been fantastic,\u201d Baron said. \u201cI truly enjoyed the excitement of building the men\u2019s and women\u2019s programs and watching them begin to receive national recognition. I leave Georgia Tech knowing the hard work and dedication toward these programs has paid off. Georgia Tech will continue to add strength and depth to the success off ACC swimming and diving.\u201d<\/p>\n
A graduate of Auburn University, Baron compiled a dual-meet record of 45-44 with the men\u2019s program and went 16-22 with the women. In his final season, Georgia Tech placed third in the men\u2019s competition at the ACC Championships while the women finished sixth. The men placed 32nd at the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n
