THE Florida foursome of Ryan Lochte, Darian Townsend, Brian Hartley and Adam Sioui clocked a record time of 6:16.53 in the 800 freestyle relay to wrap up the second day of the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>The Gators broke the previous NCAA meet mark of 6:17.35 set by USC in 2002. Florida narrowly missed resetting its own NCAA mark of 6:16.25, posted earlier this season. <\/p>\n<p>Michigan, last year\u2019s event champion, placed second in a time of 6:18.17. Arizona came back for third behind Simon Burnett\u2019s rapid 200 split of 1:33.24, the fastest in the field. Burnett stopped the clock for the Wildcats at 6:19.33.<\/p>\n<p>Auburn finished in fourth, adding 30 points to their team total of 338. Though the Tigers lead has been trimmed, Auburn still leads second place Stanford by 38 points (300). Arizona (292) and Cal-Berkeley (264) currently sit in third and fourth, respectively.
