The Lake Del Valle Aqua Challenge will take place on Saturday, July 24, at Lake Del Valle, located off Mines Road, Livermore. This exciting swim competition will test the swimming abilities of all participants. The Aqua Challenge features three separate races: 2-mile, 1-mile, and \u00bd-mile courses. To accommodate those who will those who choose to compete in the \u00bd -mile swim along with the 1- or 2-mile swims, the \u00bd -mile event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the other two competitions will start when the \u00bd-miler is completed. All three-swim courses will be marked by buoys and will be closely monitored by certified lifeguards. Lake temperature will be 72+ degrees. Following the races, there will be an awards ceremony and a free raffle to all participants. The Aqua Challeng pre-registration fee is $25.00 per person and race-day registration is $30.00. For those who choose to compete in the \u00bd-mile race along with the 1- or 2 -mile challenges may do so for an additional $5.00 fee. Entry fee includes T-shirt, mandatory swim caps, refreshments, award ceremony, and free entry into an exciting raffle. Beautiful etched glass trophies will be awarded to overall male\/female and masters overall. Engraved medals will be given to the top three finishers in each age group, in ten-year increments to 70 and over.
