STAR South African Olympic relay gold medalist and 100 free silver medalist from Athens Roland Schoeman converted his speed into the short course pool tonight, trimming 0.07 seconds off German Thomas Rupprath&#39;s world mark in the 100m individual medley, an event he has rarely competed in, clocking 52.51.<\/p>\n<p>The tall South African also clocked a very swift 46.45 to win the 100m free ahead of relay teammate Ryk Neethling (47.01). Schoeman&#39;s time for the 100 free was the third fastest swim in history behind world record-holder Ian Crocker who clocked a WR 46.25 and 46.33 last March.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Stephen J.
