HOUSTON, TX, December 31. RICE University bolstered its women\u2019s swim team roster for the fall of 2005 with the signing of five experienced swimmers, head coach Seth Huston announced on Thursday (Nov. 18).<\/p>\n
The Owls' new signing class consists of Skylar Craig from Reno, Nev., Anna Dogger of Lancaster, Pa., Diane Gu from Orlando, Fla., Houston native Keri Hyde and Carlyann Voss Miller of Fort Gibson, Okla. The group is coach Huston's largest signing class to date. Coach Huston stated that as the program's success and reputation has grown, the recruiting classes have followed suit.<\/p>\n
"I think this fall signing period is even better than last year's and our current freshmen are really doing great," Huston said. "We improved ourselves in the sprints, middle distance freestyle and backstroke, and replaced our graduating seniors in everything except breaststroke so far. With this class we really feel we have a shot of getting in the Top 25."<\/p>\n
