MINNEAPOLIS, MN, December 16. THE University of Minnesota Aquatic Center has long been host site for major collegiate and club competition, and the school has announced a new upgrade that will allow UMAC to continue on the front edge of the facility curve and maintain its status as a favorite swimming destination.<\/p>\n
It will receive an upgrade with the installation of a new state-of-the-art video display system over the next month. Purchased and installed through Colorado Timing Systems, the 21-foot by 10-foot digital video display will be the largest permanent video installation in an aquatic facility in the United States.<\/p>\n
The $250,000 project will be completed by January 15.<\/p>\n
The Olympex 23mm Full Color Display will allow the facility an opportunity to show live competition action in addition to unlimited advertising and entertainment functions that will allow the display to pay for itself.<\/p>\n
"This installation will keep us at the top of the aquatic facilities around the country that host major aquatic events," Aquatic Center Director Duane Proell said.<\/p>\n
The Aquatic Center, which hosts the 2005 Big Ten and NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships this spring, has been the host of five NCAA Championships and numerous other national and international meets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
