CHRISTCHURCH. New Zealand, December 14. AFTER years of teetering on the edge of deciding to switch sport nationalities, former sprint breaststroke world record-holder Zoe Baker reportedly has made up her mind: she is going to switch her allegiance from Great Britain to New Zealand, where she resides and trains for six months a year.<\/p>\n
Baker, who has been a New Zealand citizen since 2000, still will need the permission of the British Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) if she is to be allowed to compete for New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne in 2006. <\/p>\n
Baker, 27, who has set both long course and short course world records over 50 meters breaststroke, won gold in her pet event at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
