CHARLOTTE, NC, December 2. IN another example of the creativity that has always been the mark of the American swimming community, two of the top USA Swimming clubs in the southeastern US got together\u2026and together for a \u201chome and home\u201d set of simultaneous competitions recently.<\/p>\n
Mecklenburg Aquatic Club (Charlotte, NC) coach Dave Gibson reports that the Golden Corral Dual Meet pitted the full programs, age group and senior, of Dynamo Swim Club (Atlanta, GA) and Mecklenburg in a meet so big it couldn\u2019t be contained in one state. <\/p>\n
Seniors met in Atlanta at the Dynamo pool, while the age group teams met at the same time in Charlotte at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club Swim Center. <\/p>\n
What \u201cdouble-duals\u201d could be next? Cincinnati Marlins against KC Blazers? Tualatin Hills against King Aquatics? Santa Clara against Brophy East (formerly Phoenix Swim Club)? The only sure thing is a new angle in American swimming \u201cfun\u201d will surface somewhere.<\/p>\n
