<\/p>\nNEW WILMINGTON, Penn, October 20. WESTMINSTER College men's and women's swimming program recently announced selection of four captains for the 2004-05 season. <\/p>\n
Seniors Erica McCullough (Pittsburgh\/Baldwin H.S.) and April Dollard (Washington\/Trinity H.S.) are the women's team captains, while juniors Nate Horrell (Ligonier\/Ligonier Valley H.S.) and Buck Thornton (Gibsonia\/Deer Lakes H.S.) were nominated as men's team captains<\/p>\n
McCullough is a distance freestyle specialist who is a three year letter winner. She placed 13th in the 200 fly and 14th in the 1000 free a year ago at the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships. An elementary education major, she plans to teach elementary students following graduation.<\/p>\n
Dollard is a backstroke\/butterfly specialist who placed seventh at last years PAC Championships in the 100 & 200 back as well as the 100 fly.
\nThe three-year letter winner was also named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll in the 2003-04 season. Majoring in elementary education, she wants to teach elementary education in Japan following graduation.<\/p>\n
Horrell is a butterfly\/freestyle specialist who earned All-PAC Second Team honors in the 200 fly and third team laurels in both the 100 fly and 500 free in 2003-04. The two-year letterman swam on four PAC Champion relay teams at last year's PAC meet. He is a business administration major.<\/p>\n
Thornton, a backstroke\/individual medley specialist, is a returning captain and a two-year letter winner. He earned All-PAC Second Team recognition in the 200 back, and third team in the 100 back at the 2003-04 PAC Championships. A public relations major, he plans to be a sports information director at a college after graduating. <\/p>\n
Led by 20th -year head coach Rob Klamut, the Westminster men's and women's swimming teams open the 2004-05 season on Sat., Oct. 23 at the Clarion Fall Classic in Clarion, Pa., at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n
