SEWELL, New Jersey, July 27. DESTIN Lasco, 12, of Pleasantville Aquatics was at it again today at the Middle Atlantic Junior Olympics. A day after smashing the 400-meter IM 11-12 U.S. National Age Group mark, Lasco crushed the 200-meter backstroke record.<\/p>\n

Lasco charged to a time of 2:11.59 in the finale, obliterating Ryan Murphy’s 2008 record of 2:13.91 in the event.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Lasco raced his way to a phenomenal time of 4:51.03 in the 400-meter IM, crushing the previous record of 4:52.24 set by Yezan Alsader back in 2013. <\/p>\n

Lasco missed the 11-12 100 backstroke by a slim margin. He clocked a time of 1:00.52 in the 100-meter back, missing Vinny Marciano’s 1:00.33 from earlier this year. He also clocked a 4:28.05 in the 400 free as well as a 28.10 in the 50 fly. He just missed Chas Morton’s historic 1983 200-meter IM mark of 2:15.42 with a 2:15.79, while also clocking a 56.29 in the 100-meter free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
