CLOVIS, California, July 26. CHELSEA Bailey won her second event of the meet while the Crow Canyon Sharks extended their lead in the team standings with one day to go at the Speedo Champions Series sectional meet in Clovis.<\/p>\n
Alexa Skorus-Neely of the Canyons Aquatic Club topped the women\u2019s 200 IM final in 2:21.93 to start the night, just over half a second ahead of San Diego State\u2019s Savannah Miller (2:22.54). Shannon Herman of Orinda Aquatics took third with a time of 2:22.84. On the men\u2019s side, Jacob McGough scored a .35-second victory over Boulder City Henderson\u2019s Michael Velazquez, 2:06.39 to 2:06.74. Hannon Daigler of Team Rebel Aquatics touched third in 2:07.10.<\/p>\n
San Diego State swept the top two spots in the women\u2019s 50 free final, with Chelsea Bailey leading the way in 26.00 and Anika Apostalon taking second in 26.48. It marked Bailey\u2019s second win of the meet, as she already won the 100 free earlier. Madelyn Murphy of Crow Canyon finished third in 26.51. Dillon Virva of Team Rebel Aquatics threw down a 22.73 to win the men\u2019s 50, well ahead of Orinda Aquatics\u2019 Christopher Peterson (23.12) and Crow Canyon\u2019s David Morgan (23.22).<\/p>\n
Riley Spitser of Blue Fins claimed the women\u2019s 400 free title in 4:18.55, almost four seconds in front of Boulder City Henderson\u2019s Megan Purdy (4:22.24). Emily Niles of host Clovis Swim Club rounded out the top three in 4:22.29. Team Rebel Aquatics picked up another win in the next event with Joseph Riggert taking the men\u2019s 400 free title in 3:59.89. Nolan Newland of San Luis Obispo claimed second in 4:00.99, four seconds in front of Orinda Aquatics\u2019 Talbot Jacobs (4:04.80).<\/p>\n
San Diego State\u2019s quartet of Anika Apostalon, Chelsea Bailey, Whitney Weisz and Savannah Miller topped the women\u2019s 400 free relay in 3:53.62, ahead of Team Rebel Aquatics\u2019 Elena Gavrilova, Michelle Troup, Jessica Wong and Ruth Nguyen (3:55.35). Orinda Aquatics rounded out the top three in 3:56.37 with Claire Therien, Katies Kastes, Meghan Bicomong and Mary Allison Ashby competing on the relay.<\/p>\n
David Morgan, Bryan Hughes, Dillon Williams and Jason Chen led the Crow Canyon men to a relay win in 3:29.21. Santa Barbara Swim Club finished right behind in 3:29.41, thanks to Joshua Smith, Putnam Browne, Christopher Dotson and Chase Lemley. Heartland Swim Association\u2019s Caleb Davies, Codi Saunders, Thomas Faucher and Marco Russo took third in 3:31.60.<\/p>\n
Crow Canyon leads the team standings with 1,075 points, ahead of Orinda Aquatics (846) and California Capital Aquatics (667) through tonight\u2019s session.<\/p>\n
