OXFORD, Ohio, August 29. SAM Mitchell, 10, of Ohio had the most outstanding performance of the Central Zone meet in Oxford, Ohio, and it wasn\u2019t even one of the 12 meet records.<\/p>\n
Mitchell had the 10 & Under 50 meter backstroke record in his sights and swam 33.26, just off Kris Humphries' 1995 Central Zone record of 33.24. What makes Mitchell\u2019s swim stand out among all the 2004 efforts is that the Humphries meet record also still stands as the National Age Group record. Great swim, Sam.<\/p>\n
Central Zones held two meets this summer, Oxford, Ohio and Topeka, Kansas. The following are swims surpassing the old meet records. The 15-18 Women\u2019s 100 Butterfly is worthy of special note as 5 different girls crushed the old mark of 1:06.66.<\/p>\n
