Duncan Scott<\/p>\n<p>MESA, Ariz. July 18 \u2013 WITH understandable pride, Auburn earlier this week announced from Long Beach, Calif., the site of the U.S. Olympic Trials, that Tiger Margaret Hoelzer won the 200 backstroke to \u201cpunch\u201d her ticket for Athens as a member of the American contingent.  <\/p>\n<p>Hoelzer was the first woman Tiger on the U. S. team, but she is far from the only woman Olympian from Auburn.  In the same release, the Tigers pointed out Margaret would be joining a host of female Tigers in Greece, including sprinters Eileen Coparropa of Panama and Jana Kolukanova of Estonia, along with Kirsty Coventry, an IM and Backstroke medal threat from Zimbabwe.  <\/p>\n<p>This remarkable gathering of Olympians, each an important contributor to Auburn\u2019s recent NCAA championship run, will be joined by Co-Head Coach Kim Brackin who will be credentialed in Athens as coach for Zimbabwe.  <\/p>\n<p>All in all, it appears the Auburn women will participate well in Greece.
