BROPHY East Swim Team (BEST) and head coach Dennis Pursely, former national team director for USA Swimming, have announced that Michael Brooks, currently Head Coach of the York site of the North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC) will join club&#39;s staff on September 1 as Head Age Group Coach.  NBAC has produced 11 Olympians since 1984, including Michael Phelps.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to assuming his current responsibilities with NBAC, Coach Brooks was Head Age Group Coach of the Tar Heel Aqua Racers in Raleigh, North Carolina and Head Coach of Rams Aquatics in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Coach Brooks has coached swimmers to national &quot;top 16&quot; in all events in all age groups!  He was the 2003 Maryland Age Group Coach of the Year and twice the Utah High School Coach of the year.<\/p>\n<p>He is known by his peers as a perfectionist who is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the sport of swimming and is committed to instilling in his athletes a passion for the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their lives.  <\/p>\n<p>Brooks has undergraduate degrees from both Carleton College (English Literature) and Utah (History), as well as a Masters in History from Notre Dame.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Ariz., June 27.
