Jenny Thompson broke the world record in the 50m butterfly with a time of 26.05, eclipsing her record of 26.48 set Nov. 29, 1997. She also swam a time of 53.58 in the prelims of the 100 free today, but did not swim in the finals. Instead, she went back to Mills College in Oakland, CA to continue her pre-med studies. <\/p>\n
